This vacation home in Catskills is surrounded by mountains and lush landscape. We wanted to bring the same sense of serenity into the interior design and therefore chose a palette that is light and neutral. A range of modern yet comfortable furnishings were selected that complements the original elements found throughout the house. The result is an effortless and quiet elegant living room. 

We wanted to create a change in the mood and intimacy in the family and powder room that are tucked away to create an element of surprise and contrast.

The family room walls were painted with a black roman clay plaster that blended in with an artful ceiling that reflects light. We took a similar approach to the powder room and wrapped a sisal chinoiserie wallpaper from the walls to the ceiling. The hunter green wainscot has a paneled detailing that echoes the classic aesthetic of the light fixture, sink and mirror.
