NR PRIVATE RESIDENCE, MINNESOTA | DESIGN BY CHRISTINA LUK
Principal interior designer and procurement

The Minnesota residence belongs to a couple who appreciates modern and timeless aesthetics. They wanted an entryway and dining room that is welcoming, minimalistic and reflects their love for art.

The long foyer provided an opportunity to create a gallery like composition that is dynamic yet restrained. A white ash wood bench balances two large vertical paintings sourced from Poland. A hand-made ceramic vase (inspired by the traditional Japanese art of paper folding) allows for seasonal branch arrangements. These contemporary pieces are tied together with a long jute rug.

The dining room design celebrates the mix of traditional and modern pieces. A long linen runner and a display of Danish ceramic pieces are added to modernize the family’s heirloom dining table and chairs.
