PARK HYATT HOTEL, SHENZHEN| RED ROOM LOUNGE
Collaboration with Yabu Pushelberg | Project Leader and Design Lead
The lounge illustrates a scholar’s adventure as he journeys back to his village. The style of the mural was inspired by the boldness of traditional Chinese calligraphy painted on scrolls. The graphic quality of the art balances out the contemporary quietness of the interior architecture, selection of furniture and its finishes. A dramatic long travertine table anchors the room. It is designed with a dining height proportion to make it more comfortable to sit at and allow for the bartender to make delicious libations and interact intimately with guests.
Role: Lead designer to space plan, conceptualize, design, render by hand, produce drawing sets and coordinate with consultants and artist.
